I Finally Realized I Don’t Like Working on Cars

After years of buying weird, old, and forgotten cars and taking way too long to fix them, I’m finally admitting it: I just don’t love wrenching on them. I’m a genuinely terrible mechanic who’s never really improved, no matter how many projects I take on! But my 1985 Dodge Mini Ram Van, saved from the junkyard, needs some love. Instead of tackling important things like fixing the carburetor, I’ll spend the day doing easy stuff like cleaning up the filthy interior and grimy exterior. We’ll talk about why I’m burnt out on wrenching, what it means to be a “real” car person, and how the next owner will likely enjoy fixing this van more than I would.
