They Lost Everything… But These Cars Brought Them Back Together.

Today I’m heading out to a very special Cars & Coffee event—one with a story that goes far deeper than just cars and coffee. Earlier this year, devastating firestorms tore through Altadena, California, and the surrounding areas—destroying homes, businesses, memories, and even beloved classic cars. But in the wake of unimaginable loss, something powerful happened: the local car community came together.

We’ll talk with some car lovers who lost their cherished classics in the fire, and others who were fortunate enough to have theirs spared. We’ll also chat with Dave Stone, founder of Altadena Cars & Coffee, about how this meetup came to be—and his Not EV Altadena Instagram account that documented the stories of those affected.

Through it all, these surviving classic cars have become symbols of resilience, connection, and hope. Let’s check out some rides and hear their stories.

Thanks to everyone here for taking the time to talk with me today. And thanks to Dave Stone (founder of Altadena Cars & Coffee and the Not EV Altadena instagram page) for letting me use some of his photos in this video, and for the video thumbnail.
